Dustin O’Halloran is scoring the upcoming indie drama Now Is Good. The film based on a novel by Jenny Downham is written and directed by Ol Parker (Imagine Me & You) and stars Dakota Fanning as a seventeen year old girl diagnosed with a terminal illness who resolves to live her life on fast forward and falls in love with her new neighbor. Jeremy Irvine, Paddy Considine, Kaya Scoledario and Olivia Williams are co-starring. Peter Czernin and Graham Broadbent (In Bruges, the upcoming The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel) are producing the project. Sony Picture Worldwide Acquisitions has picked up domestic rights for Now Is Good and Warner Bros. is handling the UK release. The film is scheduled to open in the UK on May 25, 2012 and has yet to receive a release date in the US.
O’Halloran’s best known film credit is last year’s Sundance indie hit Like Crazy directed by Drake Doremus and starring Anton Yelchin and Felicity Jones. The composer also scored the documentary The Other Dream Team directed by Marius Markevicius. The movie chronicles the journey of the 1992 Lithuanian basketball team, whose athletes struggled under Soviet rule and became symbols of Lithuania’s independence movement, and in partnership with the Grateful Dead triumphed at the Barcelona Summer Olympics. Markevicius who co-produced Like Crazy is producing the film with Jon Weinbach. The documentary will be making its world premiere later this week at the Sundance Film Festival.
