David Sardy is scoring the superhero action sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. The movie is directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (Crank, Gamer). Nicolas Cage returns as Johnny Blaze who lives in exile in Eastern Europe, where he is called upon to stop the devil, who is trying to take human form. Idris Elba, Violante Placido, Ciaran Hinds and Christopher Lambert are co-starring. Scott Gimple and Seth Hoffman (Flash Forward) have written the screenplay, which is based on a story by David Goyer (Batman Begins). Avi Arad (Spider-Man, Iron Man), Ari Arad, Michael De Luca (The Social Network, Moneyball) and Steven Paul are producing. Mark Steven Johnson who directed the first Ghost Rider installment scored by composer Christopher Young, is executive producing the project. Sardy who is best known for his scores for Zombieland and 21 also has the action thriller Premium Rush coming up as reported earlier this year. It has just been reported this week that the movie directed by David Koepp and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jamie Chung and Michael Shannon has been pushed back from its original January release date to August 24, 2012 by Sony Pictures.
