Metric have announced on their official website that they are teaming up with composer Howard Shore on the score for the drama Cosmopolis. As previously reported, Shore is scoring the movie directed by David Cronenberg and starring Robert Pattinson, Juliette Binoche, Paul Giamatti, Kevin Durand, Jay Baruchel and Samantha Morton. The film centers on a multimillionaire who risks his fortune to bet against the yen on a cataclysmic day. Metric have previously collaborated with Shore on The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, for which they co-wrote the end titles song Eclipse (All Yours). Cosmopolis has recently entered post-production and is expected to be released in 2012.
Coming up next for Shore is David Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method, which has already been released in the UK, as well as Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, which had its first screening earlier this week at the New York Film Festival. As announced a few months ago, Shore’s label Howe Records will be releasing the soundtrack for the movie. The album is set to come out on November 22, 2011 and is available for pre-order on Amazon.
