The Newton Brothers have signed on to score the comedy High School. The composer duo is replacing Harold Faltermeyer who finished writing music for the film a while ago. The original version of the film also featured music by Freescha. The movie marks the directorial feature debut of John Stalberg and stars Adrien Brody, Michael Chiklis and Colin Hanks. The comedy centers on a high school valedictorian who gets baked with the local stoner and finds himself the subject of a drug test. Stalberg also co-wrote the script with Stephen Cusco (The Grudge). Warren Zide (American Pie, Final Destination) is producing with Ray Markovich. High School premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival and is currently awaiting a release date. As reported earlier this year, the Newton Brothers have also scored the action drama Setup starring Bruce Willis, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson and Ryan Philippe, which is coming out on Blu-Ray and DVD on September 20, 2011.
