Varese Sarabande Records has announced a soundtrack release for the upcoming sci-fi mystery film Super 8. The album includes Michael Giacchino‘s original score from the J.J. Abrams-directed movie. The soundtrack will be released on June 28, 2011. The album is now available to pre-order on Amazon. More details on the soundtrack will posted in the next couple of weeks as they’re announced. Super 8 is produced by Steven Spielberg and stars Elle Fanning, Amanda Michalka, Ron Eldard, Kyle Chandler and Noah Emmerich. The film takes place in the summer of 1979 and revolves around a group of friends who begin noticing strange happenings going around in their small town and begin to investigate into the creepy phenomenon.
