According to the Gorfaine/Schwartz agency, David Sardy is attached to score the upcoming action thriller Premium Rush. The movie centers around a New York City bike messenger who picks up a package at Columbia University and subsequently catches the attention of a dirty cop. The film stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jamie Chung and Michael Shannon and is co-written and directed by David Koepp. The writer/director previously worked with James Newton Howard on his first two directorial efforts The Trigger Effect and Stir of Echoes and more recently with Geoff Zanelli on Secret Window (alongside Philip Glass) and Ghost Town. Premium Rush is produced by Gavin Polone who worked with Sardy on 2009’s hit horror comedy Zombieland. The thriller marks the composer’s third feature film after scoring Robert Luketic’s crime drama 21 and Ruben Fleischer’s Zombieland. The film which was shot last summer is currently scheduled to be released on January 13, 2012 by Sony Pictures.
