Christopher Young is scoring the upcoming horror action horror thriller Priest. The movie involves a warrior priest who turns against the church to track down a murderous band of vampires who kidnapped his niece. The film stars Paul Bettany, Cam Gigandet, Maggie Q, Karl Urban, Lily Collins, Stephen Moyer and Christopher Plummer. Priest is directed by Scott Charles Stewart who previously directed last year’s Legion with music by John Frizzell. Screen Gems has scheduled a May 13, 2011 release date for the 3D picture. Young also has the drama The Rum Diary coming up later this year. In the movie starring Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart, Giovanni Ribisi, Richard Jenkins and Amaury Nolasco, an itinerant journalist travels to Puerto Rico and adopts the rum-soaked lifestyle of the late ’50s as in Hemingway’s The Lost Generation. The film is based on the novel by Hunter S. Thompson and marks Bruce Robinson’s first directorial effort since 1992’s Jennifer Eight, on which he also collaborated with Young. No release date has been set for The Rum Diary, but it is expected to open later this year.
