Harry Gregson-Williams and David Buckley are currently finishing up work on the score for the crime thriller The Town. The movie is directed by Ben Affleck who is also starring in the movie alongside Rebecca Hall, Jeremy Renner, Blake Lively, Jon Hamm and Jeff Cooper. In the movie, a longtime thief tries to balance his feelings for a bank manager connected to one of his earlier heists, as well as the FBI agent looking to bring him and his crew down. The movie marks Gregson-Williams’ second collaboration with director Ben Affleck after scoring his directing debut Gone Baby Gone in 2007. David Buckley wrote additional music for Gone Baby Gone and has been working with Harry Gregson-Williams on many of his score, but The Town marks the first feature project the two composers are sharing composer credit. The orchestral parts for the score were recorded last week at the Fox Scoring Stage in Los Angeles. Warner Bros will release the movie on September 10.
