Marco Beltrami (Logan, A Quiet Place, Scream, 3:10 to Yuma, Hellboy, The Hurt Locker) and Miles Hankins (Len & Company, Being Serena) have teamed up to score the new Hulu limited series Nine Perfect Strangers. The show is deeveloped by David E. Kelley (Ally McBeal, The Practice, The Undoing) & John Henry Butterworth (Edge of Tomorrow, Ford v Ferrari) based on the New York Times bestselling book by Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies) and stars Nicole Kidman, Melissa McCarthy, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Bobby Cannavale, Samara Weaving, Regina Hall, Asher Keddie, Melvin Gregg, Grace Van Patten, Tiffany Boone and Manny Jacinto. The drama takes place at a boutique health-and-wellness resort that promises healing and transformation as nine stressed city dwellers try to get on a path to a better way of living and have no idea what is about to hit them. Jonathan Levine (50/50, All the Boys Love Mandy Lane) is directing all eight episodes and is also executive producing the Made Up Stories, Blossom Films & Endeavor Content production with Kelley, Butterworth, Moriarty, Kidman, McCarthy, Bruna Papandrea (Wild, The Nightingale), Steve Hutensky & Jodi Matterson (The Dry, Penguin Bloom), Per Saari (Rabbit Hole, The Family Fang), Molly Allen and Samantha Strauss (The End). Beltrami & Hankins have previously co-scored Levine’s comedies The Night Before and Long Shot, while Beltrami also co-scored the director’s feature Warm Bodies with Buck Sanders. Nine Perfect Strangers will premiere on exclusively on August 18, 2021 exclusively Hulu.
Also coming up for Beltrami is Andy Serkis’ Venom: Let There Be Carnage (to be released in theaters on September 24), as well as Alessio Jim Della Valle’s American Night, which is currently awaiting a release date.
