Netflix has announced today that Kenji Kawai (Ghost in the Shell, Ip Man, Death Note, Resident Evil: Vendetta) is the composer of the upcoming Chinese fantasy adventure The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity. The film is directed by Guo Jingming (Tiny Times) and stars Mark Chao, Allen Deng, Olivia Wang, Jessie Li and Wang Duo. The movie is based on the Japanese fantasy novel Onmyōji by Baku Yumemakura and revolves around Abe no Seimei, the most renowned yin-yang master during the Heian period, and his fantastical encounters with demons and evil spirits. The project is produced by Hehe Pictures, Zestful Unique Ideal, Thinkingdom Pictures and Shanghai Film Group. The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity will be released in Chinese theaters on December 25, 2020 and will premiere globally on February 5, 2021 exclusively on Netflix.
