Composer Bear McCreary is reuniting with director Christopher Landon on the upcoming horror comedy Freaky. The film starring Vince Vaughn, Kathryn Newton, Celeste O’Connor, Misha Osherovich, Uriah Shelton, Dana Drori, Katie Finneran and Alan Ruck follows a teenage girl trying to survive the bloodthirsty halls of her high school and the cruelty of the popular crowd when she switches bodies with a relentless serial killer. Landon (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) also co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Kennedy. Jason Blum (Get Out, Halloween, Paranormal Activity, The Invisible Man) is producing the project through his Blumhouse production company. McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Battlestar Galactica) has previously scored Landon’s last two features Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2U for Blumhouse. McCreary’s other recent feature projects include Tate Taylor’s Ava, which will be released stateside on September 25 and McG’s The Babysitter: Killer Queen, which premiering today on Netflix. The composer also continues to score Starz’s Outlander, AMC’s The Walking Dead and TNT’s Snowpiercer.
