John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Iron Man 2) & Germaine Franco (Tag, Dope) are teaming up to score the upcoming family adventure Dora the Explorer. The film is directed by James Bobin (The Muppets, Muppets Most Wanted) and stars Isabela Moner, Eugenio Derbez, Eva Longoria, Michael Peña, Jeffery Wahlberg, Nicholas Coombe, Madeleine Madden, Adriana Barraza, Q’orianka Kilcher, Pia Miller and Temuera Morrison. Benicio del Toro also stars as the voice of Swiper. The movie is based on Nickelodeon’s animated TV series and follows the title character as she has to save her parents and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost Inca civilization. Kristin Burr (Christopher Robin) is producing the Paramount Players, Nickelodeon Movies and Walden Media production. Debney has previously scored The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water, Hotel for Dogs and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius for Nickelodeon Movies. Debney and Franco have previously co-scored the CBS drama pilot Chiefs. Dora the Explorer is set to be released on August 2, 2019 by Paramount Pictures.
Debney also continues to score episodes of Fox’s The Orville, which currently airs every Thursday night and has also recently scored Harmony Korine’s The Beach Bum, which just premiered at the SXSW Film Festival and will be released in theaters later this month by Neon. Franco has recently composed the music for Tina Gordon’s Little, which is set to open in theaters on April 12.
Well, this should definitely be an interesting one.
You left out Barnyard in the Debney-scored Nickelodeon features.
Also, I agree. This should be interesting.
