Alex Somers (Captain Fantastic, Aloha, Manhattan) has been hired to score the upcoming drama Honey Boy. The film is directed by Alma Har’el (Bombay Beach) and stars Shia LaBeouf, Lucas Hedges, Noah Jupe and Maika Monroe. The movie revolves around a child TV star and his ex-rodeo clown father as they face their stormy past through time and cinema. LaBeouf also wrote the screenplay. Har’el is also producing the project with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Sinister, Midnight Special), Daniela Taplin Lundberg (The Kids Are All Right, Hello, My Name Is Doris), Anita Gou (Assassination Nation) and Christopher Leggett (Becoming Bond). Honey Boy will premiere next month in competition at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
