Marco Beltrami is set to compose the music for the upcoming Spike TV event mini-series Waco. The show is written by John Erick Dowdle (Quarantine, Devil) & Drew Dowdle and stars Michael Shannon and Taylor Kitsch. The 6-parter is based on the true story of the 1993 FBI siege of a religious sect in Waco, Texas that resulted in the deadly shoot out and fire. John Erick Dowdle is also directing the series. The Dowdle brothers are executive producing the Weinstein Television production with Shannon, Kitsch, Harvey Weinstein & Bob Weinstein, David Glasser, Jennifer Malloy and Megan Spanjian. Beltrami has previously collaborated with Dowdle on the 2015 feature No Escape starring Pierce Brosnan & Owen Wilson. No release date has been announced yet for Waco.
Beltrami whose most recent project, Logan, is now playing in theaters nationwide also has Angelina Jolie’s Netflix movie First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers, as well as the Russian drama Matilda coming up. He also recently co-scored the first season of History’s Six, which has been renewed for a second season to premiere in 2018.
