Dustin O’Halloran and Brian Crosby have composed the music for the pilot of the new Amazon original series I Love Dick. The comedy is written by Sarah Gubbins (Ten Aker Wood), directed by Jill Soloway (Lars and the Real Girl, Afternoon Delight) and stars Kevin Bacon, Kathryn Hahn, Griffin Dunne and Roberta Colindrez. The show based on Chris Kraus’ 1997 novel of the same title is set in a colorful academic community in Marfa, Texas and centers on a struggling married couple and their mutual obsession with an off-putting but charismatic professor.Soloway and Gubbins are also executive producing the Amazon Studios production with Andrea Sperling (Smashed, Like Crazy) and Victor Hsu. O’Halloran is also scoring Soloway’s Amazon series Transparent (and received an Emmy Award for his main titles theme last year), which will return for a third season this fall. The pilot episode for I Love Dick is now available to stream on Amazon.
O’Halloran (Like Crazy, Equals) has previously co-scored the 2014 feature Posthumous with Crosby. His other upcoming projects include the drama Lion starring Dev Patel & Nicole Kidman, which will be released on November 25 by the Weinstein Company, as well as the French thriller The Shadow of Iris.
