justice-leagueProducer Deborah Snyder confirmed during a recent press event that Junkie XL (aka Tom Holkenborg) will return to score the upcoming superhero movie Justice League. The film is directed by Zack Snyder (300Dawn of the DeadWatchmen) and stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, J. K. Simmons and Amber Heard. The movie follows greatest heroes, including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg who are assembled to form the Justice League and to combat a threat beyond each member’s capabilities. Chris Terrio (Argo) has written the screenplay. Deborah and Zack Snyder are producing the project with Charles Roven (The Dark Knight trilogy, Warcraft). Junkie XL has previously co-scored Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with Hans Zimmer and provided additional music for the director’s Man of Steel. Justice League is set to be released on November 17, 2017 by Warner Bros. Pictures. (via Collider)

Holkenborg’s upcoming projects also include Spectral and the western Brimstone.

We almost got a Justice League movie directed by George Miller and scored by whoever he had on his mind to do his movie (John Powell, perhaps). Instead, we are stuck with Zack Snyder and Junkie XL. That’s really depressing for all JL and DC fans.

Junkie XL also scored George Miller’s Fury Road.

By the way the script for the Miller JL was abysmally bad, there’s a full cast reading of it on Youtube. We can only hope this Snyder version is a lot better.

The script for Miller’s Justice League was abysmally bad and Junkie XL’s scores are abysmally bad. It’s a match made in heaven!

No more Remote Control shit composers !!!

Personally, I would love to see Giacchino, Powell, Debney or maybe even James Newton Howard doing this movie.

  5. SDH says:

So it is going to be Alan Silvestri of Infinity Wars, vs Tom Holkenborg of Justice League for the final two round(s) of this match. If nothing stupid takes place in either fronts, this could turn out to be a glorious showdown for composers. Ladies and Gentlemen, “Justice League vs Avengers” is happening… long before the studios are making an actual movie about it! Oh yeah! ^_^

Cant be worse than Marvel’s generic orchestral sleepy time scores
