A soundtrack album will be released for the PBS mini-series Mercy Street. The album features the show’s original music composed by David Buckley (The Good Wife, The Town, The Forbidden Kingdom, The Brothers Grimsby). The soundtrack will be released tomorrow, February 9 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Mercy Street is created by Lisa Q. Wolfinger & David Zabel and stars Josh Radnor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gary Cole, Peter Gerety, Norbert Leo Butz, AnnaSophia Robb and Cherry Jones. The 6-parter centers on the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War – New England abolitionist Mary Phinney and Confederate supporter Emma Green. The mini-series premiered last month on PBS and the final two episodes will air on February 14 & 21. Visit PBS’ official show website for more information.

Why the MP-3 format only? This is insulting to soundtrack fans who value the CD version. This beautiful score deserves a CD or CD-R release. Hopefully so
I totally agree this needs to be on a CD. I would love it.
The theme music reminds me of music found on the earliest albums by new age group Shadowfax. I wonder if its composer was once a member of that band?
