Michael Brook is composing the music for the upcoming indie drama About Ray. The film is directed by Gaby Dellal (Angels Crest, On a Clear Day) and stars Naomi Watts, Elle Fanning, Susan Sarandon, Tate Donovan, Sam Trammell and Linda Emond. The movie centers on a New York teenager seeking to transition from female to male and the relationship with her single mother who is coming to terms with having to raise her only daughter as a son. Dellal has also co-written the screenplay with Nikole Beckwith (Stockholm, Pennsylvania) and is also producing the project with Marc Turtletaub & Peter Saraf (Little Miss Sunshine, Away We Go, Safety Not Guaranteed) and Dorothy Berwin. About Ray will be released on September 8, 2015 by the Weinstein Company.
As previously reported, Brook has also composed the music for John Crowley’s drama Brooklyn starring Saoirse Ronan. The movie premiered to critical acclaim at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released on November 6, 2015 by Fox Searchlight and Lakeshore Records will be releasing the official soundtrack album.
