Alec Puro is set to reunite with director Gavin Wiesen on the upcoming indie comedy The Runaround. The movie stars J.K. Simmons, Emile Hirsch and Kristen Schaal. The film centers on a workaholic father who forced to team up with his daughter’s awkward ex-boyfriend to find her over the course of one night when attempts to visit her during a last-minute layover in Los Angeles. Seth W. Owen has written the screenplay. Mandy Tagger Brockey & Adi Ezroni (A Late Quartet, Kelly & Cal) are producing the project with George Voskericyan & J.M.R. Luna, Ron Perlman & Josh Crook and P. Jennifer Dana. Puro has previously composed the music for Wiesen’s first feature The Art of Getting By. The Runaround is currently shooting in Los Angeles. No word yet on a premiere date.
Puro also continues to score ABC Family’s The Fosters. The composer has also scored the indie dramedy Ashby starring Mickey Rourke, Nat Wolff & Emma Roberts. The movie premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and was picked up by Paramount Home Entertainment for a release later this year.
