Nonesuch Records will release the official soundtrack album for Paul Thomas Anderson’s Inherent Vice. The album features the film’s original music composed by Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood who previously scored Anderson’s There Will Be Blood and The Master. Also included are the songs from the film by artists including Neil Young, Can, The Marketts, Minnie Riperton & more. The soundtrack will be released on December 15, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Inherent Vice is written and directed by Anderson and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Owen Wilson, Katherine Waterston, Reese Witherspoon, Benicio Del Toro, Martin Short, Jena Malone and Joanna Newsom. The movie based on the novel by Thomas Pynchon is set in 1960s Los Angeles and follows the drug-fueled detective Larry “Doc” Sportello as he investigates the case of a kidnapped girl.
