Columbia Records will release a soundtrack album for the supernatural horror thriller Carrie. The album features the film’s songs by such artists as Rogue Wave, Vampire Weekend, Passion Pit, The Naked and Famous, The Civil Wars, Matrimony, Lord Huron and Krewella. The soundtrack will be released on October 15, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce and stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Julianne Moore, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde and Ansel Elgort. The movie is a reimagining of Stephen King’s classic horror tale about Carrie White, a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. Marco Beltrami has composed the film’s original music. No word on a release of the score. The horror thriller will be released nationwide on October 18 by Sony Pictures.
