Dominic Lewis has signed on to score the upcoming animated feature Free Birds. The film is directed by Jimmy Hayward and follows two turkeys from opposite sides of the tracks must put aside their differences and team up to travel back in time to change the course of history. The movie’s voice cast includes Woody Harrelson, Owen Wilson, Amy Poehler, Dan Fogler, Lesley Nicol, George Takei, Colm Meaney and Keith David. David I. Stern (Open Season 2 & 3) and John Strauss (There’s Something About Mary, The Wild) wrote the screenplay with a rewrite by Craig Mazin (Identity Thief, The Hangover Part II & III). The writers are also producing the Relativity Media and Reel FX production with Scott Mosier (Clerks, Dogma). Hayword previously collaborated with composer John Powell on his last animated feature Horton Hears a Who!. Lewis has previously worked together with Powell and composers Henry Jackman and Hans Zimmer, providing additional music for such films as Rio, Rango, Kung Fu Panda, X-Men: First Class and Wreck-It-Ralph.
