Film Music Reporter has learned that Paul Cantelon has recently completed writing the music for the upcoming drama The Music Never Stopped. The films stars Julia Ormond, J.K. Simmons, Tammy Blanchard and Mia Maestro and marks the feature directorial debut for Jim Kohlberg. The movie tells the tale of a father who struggles to bond with his estranged son Gabriel, after Gabriel suffers from a brain tumor that prevents him from forming new memories. The movie will have its premiere at the 2011 Sundance film festival. No release date has been set for The Music Never Stopped, but a release is expected in 2011.
Cantelon comes off scoring this year’s drama Conviction, which recently got Hilary Swank a SAG nomination for her portrayal of the film’s lead character Betty Anne Waters. While the score for the movie remains unreleased, the composer recently uploaded what seems to be the complete score for Conviction on his official website.
