The details of the soundtrack album for M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming sci-fi adventure After Earth have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by the director’s regular musical collaborator James Newton Howard (The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village). James Newton Howard to Score M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘After Earth’
Director M. Night Shyamalan has confirmed on Twitter that he will be reuniting with composer James Newton Howard on his next feature After Earth. The sci-fi movie stars Will and Jaden Smith as a father and son who crash-land on Earth one thousand years after mankind has abandoned the planet. The crash leaves the father badly injured and the son must trek across the hostile terrain to recover their rescue beacon. Gary Whitta (The Book of Eli) and Stephen Gaghan (Traffic, Syriana) have written the screenplay with Shyamalan. The director is also producing with Smith, James Lassiter (I Am Legend, The Karate Kid) and Caleeb Pinkett for Overbrook Entertainment. Shyamalan has previously collaborated with Newton Howard on his last seven films, including The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village and The Last Airbender.
