Emile Mosseri (Minari, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, Homecoming, Kajillionaire, When You Finish Saving the World) has signed on to score the upcoming Amazon original series Mr. and Mrs. Smith. The show is created by Donald Glover (Atlanta), Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) & Francesca Sloane and stars Glover himself, Maya Erskine, Parker Posey and Wagner Moura. The spy comedy is based on Doug Liman’s 2005 feature of the same title (scored by John Powell) about two rival spies who discover they have been contracted to assassinate each other. Sloane also serves as the project’s showrunner and is executive producing the New Regency production with Glover, Yariv Milchan, Arnon Milchan (Birdman, The Revenant), Michael Schaefer (The Martian, Murder on the Orient Express) and Anthony Katagas (12 Years a Slave, Ad Astra), as well as Stephen Glover (Swarm), Hiro Murai (Station Eleven), Nate Matteson (The Bear) and Wells Street Films’s Jenny Robins (Run). Mr. & Mrs. Smith is expected to premiere this year on Prime Video.
Mosseri has also announced his debut album, Heaven Hunters, which set for release on June 9, 2023 via his imprint Greedy Heart Records. Written, sung, and arranged by Mosseri, the record is produced by Bobby Krlic (aka The Haxan Cloak) and explores the weight of choosing one path in life, putting to death every other possible future, and finding comfort in redefining happiness. A first track (Oklahoma Baby) is already available to stream/download now (check out the music video below) and the full album will be released on June 9 (visit Amazon to pre-order and click here to pre-save). A live performance is scheduled to take place on Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles on June 21 (click here to purchase tickets and for more information).
