Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the French/Senegalese World War I drama Father & Soldier (Tirailleurs). The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Shape of Water, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Queen, Godzilla). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Listen to the first two tracks after the jump. A CD version is being released overseas this Friday (click here to order as an import) and a vinyl edition will be coming out next month. Father & Soldier is directed by Mathieu Vadepied and stars Omar Sy, Alassane Diong and Jonas Bloquet. The movie tells the story of Bakary Diallo, a father who enlists in the French army to join his 17-year-old son who has been forcibly recruited. The drama premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and is being released in French theaters today. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
