22D Music has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature The Black Pharaoh, the Savage and the Princess (Le pharaon, le sauvage et la princesse). The album features the film’s original music composed by Pascal Le Pennec (The Painting, Peekaboo, Louise by the Shore) and performed by the Orchestre National de Bretagne. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the full track list and listen to audio samples. The Black Pharaoh, the Savage and the Princess is written and directed by Michel Ocelot and tells three different stories, including tales of a young king in Ancient Egypt who becomes the first black pharaoh to deserve the hand of his loved one, a mysterious wild boy who steals from the rich to give to the poor during the French Middle Ages and a prince of pastries and a princess of roses who escape the palace to live their love in 18th century Turkey. The movie premiered at this year’s Annecy International Film Festival and is being released in French theaters today. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
