Nima Fakhrara (The Signal, Becky, Alone, The Girl in the Photographs, Detroit: Become Human, The Pyramid) has composed the original score for the new Netflix original film Lou. The movie is directed by Anna Foerster (Underworld: Blood Wars) and stars Allison Janney, Jurnee Smollett, Logan Marshall-Green, Ridley Bateman and Matt Craven. The thriller revolves around a mysterious loner living a quiet life with her dog as she battles the elements and her own dark past when a neighbor’s little girl is kidnapped during a storm. Maggie Cohn (The Staircase) & Jack Stanley wrote the screenplay. J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek) and Jon Cohen are producing the Bad Robot production. Lou will premiere next Friday, September 23 on Netflix. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score will be available on the same day.
Fakhrara’s other recent projects also include John Hyams’ Sick, which just premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, as well as Ante Novakovic’ Sanctioning Evil, which will be released in select theaters and on VOD on October 7 by Vertical Entertainment.
