Shigeru Umebayashi (In the Mood for Love, House of Flying Daggers, Curse of the Golden Flowers, The Grandmaster) has composed the original music for the new Chinese sports drama Leap (Duo Guan). The film is directed by Peter Ho-Sun Chan (The Warlords, Dragon) and stars Gong Li, Huang Bo, Wu Gang, Peng Yuchang and Bai Lang. The movie tells the true story of the women’s national volleyball team of China and legendary volleyball coach Lang Ping who lead the rival U.S. team at the 2008 Beijing Volleyball Game and later returned to her own country to coach the Chinese team. Ji Zhang (Dearest, The Island) wrote the screenplay and Yuet-Jan Hui (The Eye series, Soulmate) is producing the project. Leap is opening in Chinese and select U.S. theaters today.
