Atli Orvarsson (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Vantage Point, The Edge of Seventeen, The Eagle) is set to return as the composer of the upcoming action comedy sequel The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. The film is directed by Patrick Hughes (The Expendables 3) and stars Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Salma Hayek and Richard E. Grant who reprise their roles from the original 2016 The Hitman’s Bodyguard movie. They are joined by Frank Grillo, Morgan Freeman, Antonio Banderas and Tom Hopper. Tom O’Connor who scripted the original film wrote the screenplay. Matt O’Toole (London Has Fallen, Hellboy) and Les Weldon (The Expendables series, Rambo: Last Blood) are producing the Millennium Media production. The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard is currently in post-production and will be released in 2020 by Lionsgate.
Orvarsson also continues to score NBC’s Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med, as well as CBS’ FBI and also has the Icelandic feature The County coming up. The composer also recently scored the Jacob’s Ladder reboot, which will be released in theaters and on VOD on August 23 by Vertical Entertainment.
