Laura Karpman (Underground, Step, Set It Up, Paris Can Wait, Taken mini-series, Black Nativity) is the composer of the new Spectrum Originals series L.A.’s Finest, the first show of Charter Communications’ new premium content initiative. The drama is set in the universe of the Jerry Bruckheimer/Michael Bay Bad Boys franchise and stars Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba, Zack Gilford, Duane Martin, Ryan McPartlin, Sophie Reynolds and Ernie Hudson. The show follows Syd Burnett (from Bad Boys II) as she has become an LAPD detective and, paired with a new partner, is forced to confront how her unapologetic lifestyle may be masking a greater personal secret. Bruckheimer (Armageddon, Top Gun, The Rock), Union and Alba are also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Jonathan Littman (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation), KristieAnne Reed (Lucifer), Brandon Margolis & Brandon Sonnier (The Blacklist), Pam Veasey (CSI:NY), Doug Belgrad (Bad Boys for Life), Jeff Gaspin, Jeff Morrone and Anton Cropper (Suits) who also directed the first episode. L.A.’s Finest will premiere on May 13 on Spectrum Originals.
As previously reported, Karpman also has the Discovery docu-series Why We Hate, as well as the features Miss Virginia and Senior Moment coming up.
I would love to know more about the song and the singer in episode 2 when McKenna visits Nico and then after the flashback to her and Dante in the car.
