Walt Disney Pictures has announced that Arcade Fire has recorded a new version of the Academy Award-nominated song Baby Mine for Disney’s upcoming Dumbo live-action movie. The song was originally written by Frank Churchill and Ned Washington (lyrics) for the 1941 animated classic. The new version will be featured during the movie’s end credits and will be included on the official soundtrack album, which also features the film’s original score by Danny Elfman, which is set to be released digitally on March 29 and physically on April 5 by Walt Disney Records. Dumbo directed by Tim Burton and starring Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito, Eva Green, Alan Arkin, Finley Hobbins, Nico Parker, Roshan Seth, Deobia Oparei, Joseph Gatt and Sharon Rooney will be released in theaters nationwide on March 29. I’m excited for this release. It’s always good to have the Burton & Elfman combo.
