Composer Enis Rotthoff is reteaming with director David Wnendt on the upcoming drama The Sunlit Night. The film marks the director’s English-language debut and stars Jenny Slate, Zach Galifianakis, Alex Sharp, Gillian Anderson, Fridjov Sáheim and David Paymer. The movie follows an American painter and a Russian émigré who find each other in the Arctic circle and discover a future and family that they didn’t know they had. Rebecca Dinerstein wrote the screenplay based on her own novel. Slate is also producing the Beachside Films production with Michael Clark & Alex Turtletaub (The Miseducation of Cameron Post), Gabrielle Nadig (King Jack, Little Woods), Fabian Gasmia and Ruben Thorkildsen. Rotthoff has previously scored Wnendt’s last two features, Wetlands and Look Who’s Back. The Sunlit Night will premiere next month in competition at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
