Composer Samuel Sim is reuniting with writer/producer Rob Williams on the upcoming BBC drama The Victim. The series is written and created by Williams and stars Kelly Macdonald, John Hannah, James Harkness, Jamie Sives, Karla Crome, Ramon Tikaram, Cal MacAninch, Chloe Pirrie and Isis Hainsworth. The legal thriller is set in Scotland and follows a mother whose nine-year old boy was murdered fifteen years ago by a 13 year old and – years later – is accused of revealing his new identity online. Niall MacCormick (Doctor Thorne) is directing all episodes of the 4-parter. Williams & Sarah Brown are producing the project for STV Productions, alongside Elizabeth Kilgarriff (Bodyguard, Poldark) & Gaynor Holmes (Shetland, Ordeal of Innocence) for the BBC. Sim (Awake, The Halcyon, Home Fires) has previously scored the Williams-created 2014 mini-series Chasing Shadows. The Victim will premiere in the UK on BBC One in 2019.
Sim also has the Netflix/Jim Henson Company series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (co-scored with Daniel Pemberton) and the Starz series The Spanish Princess (co-scored with Chris Egan) coming up.
