Anna Meredith is scoring the upcoming comedy Eighth Grade. The marks the feature directorial debut of Bo Burnham and stars Elsie Fisher and Josh Hamilton. The movie revolves around a thirteen-year-old girl who endures the tidal wave of contemporary suburban adolescence as she makes her way through the last week of middle school before she begins high school. Burnham also wrote the screenplay. Scott Rudin (No Country for Old Men, The Social Network), Eli Bush (Lady Bird, Top Five), Lila Yacoub (While We’re Young, Frances Ha) and Christopher Storer are producing the project. Meredith who is best known for her acoustic and electronic music records has previously been involved in the music selection for the 2016 indie thriller Bb. Eighth Grade marks her first full major film score. The comedy will premiere later this month at the Sundance Film Festival and A24 is expected to release the movie later this year.
