Cezary Skubiszewski has been hired to score the upcoming Amazon original mini-series Picnic at Hanging Rock. The show is based on Joan Lindsay’s Australian novel and stars Natalie Dormer, Lily Sullivan, Madeleine Madden, Samara Weaving, Ruby Rees and Inez Curroas. The 6-parter revolves around the mysterious disappearances of three schoolgirls and one teacher on Valentine’s Day 1900 and the subsequent investigation. Jo Porter and Anthony Ellis are executive producing the FremantleMedia International production with Penny Win (A Place to Call Home, Wentworth Prison). Picnic at Hanging Rock will premiere in the U.S. in 2018 on Amazon Prime.
Skubiszewski (The Sapphires, Death Defying Acts, Red Dog) also has the feature boxing drama Tiger directed by Alister Grierson and starring Mickey Rourke, Janel Parrish and Prem Singh coming up. The movie, which tells the story of Pardeep Nagra, a Sikh who was barred from the sport of boxing because he refused to shave his beard, is expected to premiere in 2018.
