Danny Elfman has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming superhero movie Justice League. Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg who co-scored Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for the DC movie universe was originally scoring the film before director Zack Snyder left the project. Joss Whedon is overseeing additional photography is beginning this week in London. Elfman has previously collaborated with Whedon on Avengers: Age of Ultron. Justice League starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher and Jason Momoa will be released in theaters nationwide on November 17 by Warner Bros. Pictures. Holy crap! Hoping the already established themes by Zimmer, Junkie and Rupert aren’t thrown out.

That sounds like an interesting idea to include the themes written by Hans, Junkie XL & Rupert.
Maybe the same, but in a different orschetration, in a more heroic Elfman style. All cinematic universes need musical continuity.

That’s Not Good
For you! I do not like Junkie or any other composer to have an association with Hans Zimmer! Between a guy who has been patronized by Zimmer, and another who has years of experience, several films of heroes in the curriculum and a more than definite musical signature, I stay with Danny Elfman! A thousand times better than anything Hans Zimmer and his minions can do.

I think Danny’s a much better choice. Keep in mind, he’s no stranger to the DC family as he’s scored 1 or 2 of the original Batman movies.
Oh, boy… an old 80’s theme is sure to be revisited.
Maybe this would have been great… 20 damn years ago back before every score made by the man is clearly stuck on autopilot. I actually like the Zimmer/Holkenborg collaboration and wished to hear more of it, but I now fear it’s just going to be forgettable.
The Girl On The Train” and “The Circle” beg to differ, as well as his work on “Avengers: Age Of Ultron.”
I’d take Elfman on autopilot anyday before anything Holkenborg could write. Divergent and Mad Max were pretty fun, but after that his scores didn’t do much for me.
And I guess that, if he had stayed within the movie, it would still be forgettable anyway. After all, the most “memorable” material on DCEU so far, which is Superman’s and Wonder Woman’s themes, are mostly Zimmer’s creations.

He did but these people won’t hear a thing about it. they think everyone in RCP are the devil and destroy anything about musical scores in films, and if it was their way, they would had them tortured just for doign stuff not suited to them.
Oh, don’t be a drama queen! What’s the problem on people simply don’t liking the RC style?
And I DID like Rupert’s Wonder Woman, it wasn’t exactly great, but it was a good score.
Great choice! As a fan, I would like to see the Justice League with a great, epic orchestral score, not Holkenborg’s usual bag of tricks (lots of drums + Inception’s horn of doom + synths), which had become tiresome and cliche by now.
