Jeff Cardoni has been hired to score the upcoming action comedy Once Upon a Time in Venice. The film is written and directed by Mark & Robb Cullen (Cop Out, Back in the Game) and stars Bruce Willis, Jason Momoa, Thomas Middleditch, Famke Janssen, John Goodman, Stephanie Sigman, Adrian Martinez, Kal Penn, Emily Robinson, Tyga, Adam Goldberg, Ken Davitian, David Arquette and Victor Orti. The movie follows an L.A.-based private investigator whose professional and personal worlds collide after his loving pet Buddy is stolen by a notorious gang. The Cullen brothers are also producing the project with Voltage Pictures’ Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Killer Joe), Zev Foreman (Good Kill, Colossal) and Laura Ford. Once Upon a Time in Venice is expected to be released in 2017.
Cardoni (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, Just Friends) also has the features Smitten! and Bad Kids of Crestview Academy coming up. In addition, the composer is also scoring the upcoming comedy The Female Brain coming up. The film is directed by Whitney Cummings who also stars in the movie alongside Sofia Vergara, James Marsden, Lucy Punch, Toby Kebbell, Cecily Strong, Beanie Feldstein, Blake Griffin, Xosha Roquemore, Chris D’Elia and Deon Cole. The movie is based on the book by neuro-psychiatrist Louann Brizendine and looks at the inner workings and complex power of brain chemistry among couples at different stages of their relationships and focuses on five couples who are struggling with each other. Erika Olde and Michael Roiff are producing the project. The Female Brain is currently in post-production and is also expected to premiere next year.
The composer’s current TV projects include ABC’s hit comedy Speechless and CBS’ Training Day, which will premiere on February 2, 2017. He will also return to score the fourth season of HBO’s Silicon Valley.
