Joseph Bishara has been hired to score the upcoming horror sequel The Conjuring 2. The film is directed by James Wan (Furious 7, Saw) and stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga who return as real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. Frances O’Connor, Madison Wolfe, Lauren Esposito, Patrick McAuley, Benjamin Haigh, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Simon Delaney, Franka Potente and Simon McBurney are co-starring. In the second installment, the Warrens travel to north London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by malicious spirits. Wan has also written the screenplay with Chad & Carey Hayes (House of Wax) and David Leslie Johnson (Orphan, Wrath of the Titans). Peter Safran is producing the New Line Cinema production with Rob Cowan. Bishara has previously scored 2013’s original film and also collaborated with Wan on the Insidious movies. The Conjuring 2 will be released on June 10, 2016 by Warner Bros. Pictures.
Bishara also has the supernatural horror thriller The Other Side of the Door coming up. The film is directed by Johannes Roberts (Storage 24) and stars Sarah Wayne Callies, Jeremy Sisto, Javier Botet and Sofia Rosinsky. The movie follows a mother who – after her son’s death – inadvertently opens the door between the worlds of the living and the dead, unleashing a horrific figure in the form of her son. Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D) is producing the project with Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh. The movie will be released on March 11, 2016 by 20th Century Fox.
