Nathan Larson has recently composed the music for the upcoming drama A Walk in the Woods. The film is directed by Ken Kwapis and stars Robert Redford, Nick Nolte, Emma Thompson, Mary Steenburgen, Nick Offerman and Kristen Schaal. The movie follows an aging travel writer who sets out to hike the 2,100-mile Appalachian Trail with a long-estranged high school buddy and learns that some roads are better left untraveled. Rick Kerb and Bill Holderman have written the screenplay. Redford and Holderman (The Company You Keep, The Conspirator) are also producing the project with Chip Diggins (Love and Honor, Sex and Breakfast). Kwapis has previously collaborated with such composers as Cliff Eidelman (He’s Just Not That Into You, Big Miracle), James Horner (Vibes) and Christophe Beck (License to Wed). A Walk in the Woods will be premiering in January at the Sundance Film Festival.
As previously reported, Larson (The Skeleton Twins, Dirty Pretty Things, (Our) Idiot Brothers) also has the crime drama The Wannabe starring Vincent Piazza and Patricia Arquette coming up.
