Stephen Warbeck is composing the music for the upcoming animated feature Yellowbird. The film is directed by Christian De Vita and features the voice talent of Seth Green, Dakota Fanning, Danny Glover, Jim Rash, Elliott Gould and Christine Baranski. The movie follows an orphan young bird who has never left the nest and is given the responsibility by the elder of the flock to lead a whole family of birds on migration to Africa. Antoine Barraud, Guilhem Lesaffre and Cory Edwards (Hoodwinked!) have written the screenplay. TeamTO and Haut et Court are producing the project. Wrekin Hill Entertainment has picked up domestic distribution rights for a release this fall. (Variety)
Warbeck who is best known for his Academy Award-winning score for Shakespeare in Love also has the sports drama Seve coming up. The film is directed by John Paul Davidson (Stephen Fry in America), produced by Stephen Evans (Much Ado About Nothing) and tells the story of Seve Ballesteros who fought against adversity to become the most spectacular and charismatic golfer to ever play the game. The drama will be released in the UK on June 27, 2014. As previously reported, the composer also has the thriller Keeping Rosy coming up. The film just premiered in Manchester and will be released in select UK theaters later this month.
