Cliff Martinez revealed in a recent interview with Lost in the Multiplex that he will be scoring Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming Cinemax original series The Knick. The show starring Clive Owen, Andre Holland, Juliet Rylance, Eve Hewson, Collin Meath and Michael Angarano is set in downtown New York in 1900 and follows the groundbreaking surgeons, nurses and staff at the Knickerbocker Hospital who push the bounds of medicine in a time of astonishingly high mortality rates and zero antibiotics. Soderbergh will direct all ten episodes of the series. Jack Amiel & Michael Begler (Big Miracle, The Prince and Me, Raising Helen) have written the scripts and are also executive producing the drama with Soderbergh, Owen and Michael Sugar (The Fifth Estate, Big Miracle) and Gregory Jacobs (Magic Mike, Side Effects). Soderbergh has previously collaborated with Soderbergh numerous times on such titles as Traffic, Sex, Lies & Videotape, Solaris and Contagion. The Knick is expected to premiere next year on Cinemax.
As previously reported, Martinez’s upcoming projects also include the French action thriller Mea Culpa.
According to IGN he will also do Far Cry 4!
