Mark Mothersbaugh has been tapped to score the upcoming comedy Last Vegas. The film is directed by Jon Turteltaub and stars Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline as four best friends in their late-60’s, who decide to escape retirement and throw a Las Vegas bachelor party for the last single member of their group. Mary Steenburgen, Jerry Ferrara, Romany Malco and Roger Bart are co-starring. Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Cars, Bolt) wrote the screenplay and Laurence Mark (Jerry Maguire, I, Robot, Dreamgirls) and Amy Baer are producing the project. Turteltaub has previously collaborated with such composers as Hans Zimmer (Cool Runnings), Thomas Newman (Phenomenon), Danny Elfman (Instinct) and Trevor Rabin (National Treasure, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice). Mothersbaugh is also scoring the animated film sequel Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2. The film is directed by Cody Cameron & Kris Pearn and features a voice cast including Bill Hader, Anna Faris, James Caan, Will Forte, Andy Samberg, Benjamin Bratt, Neil Patrick Harris, Terry Crews and Kristen Schaal. Erica Rivinoja and John Francis Daley & Jonathan Goldstein (Horrible Bosses) have written the screenplay based on a story by Rivinoja and the original film’s directors Phil Lord & Christopher Miller (21 Jump Street) who are executive producing the Sony Pictures Animation production. Pam Marsden and Kirk Bodyfelt are producing the project. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 will be released on September 27, 2013 by Sony Pictures.
