Air-Edel Records has announced a soundtrack album for the New Zealand TV series New Zealand Spy. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Stephen Gallagher (The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, Mystic, Puppet Killer, Conquering Cancer) & series creator Paul Williams. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 16. New Zealand Spy is created by Williams and stars Williams himself, Joe Thomas, Rose Matafeo, Bret McKenzie, Claudia O’Doherty, Abby Howells, Scotty Cotter, Jay Ryan, Rhys Mathewson, Tony Armstrong and Andy Lee. The comedy follows three unlikely candidates who respond to a newspaper from a New Zealand Intelligence Agency seeking recruits and are thrust into espionage, fumbling through betrayal, romance and escalating absurdity. The series premiered in New Zealand this past April on TVNZ 2 and just made its UK debut last month on Sky and NOW. No word yet on a domestic premiere date.
