Composer Emile Mosseri (Minari, The Last Black Man in San Francisco, How to Make a Killing, Kajillionaire, Homecoming, Preparation for the Next Life) is reuniting with actor/writer/director Jesse Eisenberg (A Real Pain) on the upcoming musical comedy The Debut. The film is written and directed by Eisenberg and stars Julianne Moore, Paul Giamatti, Halle Bailey, Eisenberg himself, Craig Bierko, Cara Buono, Eldar Isgandarov and Bernadette Peters. As previously reported, Eisenberg has also written all original songs for the movie, which follows a shy, unassuming housewife performing a bit part at a small community theater as she transforms into a zealous method actor willing to do anything to protect the artistic integrity of her marginal role. He is also producing the project with Fruit Tree’s Emma Stone, Dave McCary & Ali Herting (I Saw the TV Glow, Bodies Bodies Bodies) Mosseri has previously scored Eisenberg’s feature directorial debut, When You Finish Saving the World. The Debut will be released in theaters this fall by A24.
