Composer Theodore Shapiro (Severance, The Housemaid, Tropic Thunder, Ghostbusters, A Simple Favor, Spy, Dodgeball, Bombshell) is reuniting with director John Hamburg (Me Time) on the upcoming comedy Focker-In-Law. The fourth installment in the Fockers film series is written and directed by Hamburg and stars Ben Stiller, Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner, Owen Wilson & Teri Polo who are reprising their roles from the original movies. They are joined by new cast members Ariana Grande, Beanie Feldstein, Skyler Gisondo and Eduardo Franco. No plot details have been announced yet. Hamburg is also producing the project, alongside Jay Roach (who helmed the first two installments) for Delirious Media, Jane Rosenthal (About a Boy, The Irishman) & De Niro for Tribeca Productions and Stiller and John Lesher (Birdman, Black Mass) for Red Hour Films. Shapiro has previously collaborated with Hamburg on his directorial efforts Safe Men, Along Came Polly, I Love You, Man & Why Him?. Randy Newman has scored the original 2000 Meet the Parents movie and its 2004 sequel Meet the Fockers, while Stephen Trask has composed the music for 2010’s Little Fockers. Focker-In-Law will be released in theaters nationwide on November 25, 2026 by Universal Pictures.
Shapiro’s other upcoming feature projects include David Frankel’s The Devil Wears Prada 2, which will be released on May 1.
