Milan Records has released the U.S. version of the soundtrack album for the Japanese anime fantasy feature ChaO. The album features the film’s original music composed by Takatsugu Muramatsu (When Marnie Was There, Lu Over the Wall, In Love and Deep Water). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon, where you can also check out the track list. Also listen to the composer’s title track after the jump. Rambling Records has previously released the album last summer in Japan. ChaO directed by Yasuhiro Aoki is set in a fantastical future, in which humans and mermaids share a troubled coexistence, and tells the story of an anxious employee at a shipbuilding company who has big ideas to save the sea, but his life explodes into ecstatic chaos when a bubbly mermaid princess proposes marriage out of the blue. The STUDIO4°C production opened in Japan last August and has just been released in select U.S. theaters last weekend by GKIDS.
