Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi is making his feature directorial debut on the upcoming drama Doe. He also wrote the screenplay and is contributing original songs to the film starring himself in the title role, Mark Webber, Leah McNamara, Brandon Scott and Brandon Perea. The movie takes place over the course of 24 hours and follows a man living on the streets of Hollywood as he drifts through a series of encounters that pull him in and out of the cycles of his compulsion. Webber is also producing the project with Anthony Baldino and Ryan Lacen (All the World Is Sleeping, Don’t Talk to Strangers). Doe is currently in production in Los Angeles. No word yet on a premiere date. (Deadline)
As previously reported, Kid Cudi is also composing the score for the upcoming animated feature Slime.
