Record producer/songwriter Andrew Watt has made his television scoring debut on the new HBO original series Rooster. He also co-wrote the theme song with R.E.M. lead singer Michael Stipe who also performs the song. The show is created by Bill Lawrence (Ted Lasso, Scrubs) & Matt Tarses (Bad Monkey) and stars Steve Carell, Charly Clive, Danielle Deadwyler, John C. McGinley, Phil Dunster and Lauren Tsai. The comedy is set on a college campus and explores an author’s complicated relationship with his daughter. Lawrence, Tarses & Carell are also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television production with Doozer’s Jeff Ingold & Liza Katzer (Shrinking), Jonathan Krisel (Baskets, Portlandia), Barbie Adler (Life in Pieces), Annie Mebane (The Goldbergs), David Stassen (Running Point), Anthony King (The Afterparty, Woke) and David Hyman (Silk Road). Rooster is premiering tonight on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
