Haim Mazar (The Iceman, Sneakerheads, The Taking of Deborah Logan, Woke, Desperation Road, Self Help, I Am Wrath) has been hired to score the upcoming comedy sequel Scary Movie. The sixth installment in the horror parody franchise is directed by Michael Tiddes (A Haunted House, Fifty Shades of Black) and stars Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Cameron Scott Roberts, Benny Zielke, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, Heidi Gardner, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Ruby Snowber, Olivia Rose Keegan, Savannah Lee Nassif and Sydney Park. The movie takes place 26 years after the events of the original 2000 film (scored by David Kitay) and follows the Core Four as they find themselves back in the killer’s crosshairs. Marlon & Shawn Wayans also co-wrote the screenplay with Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans and Rick Alvarez (White Chicks, Little Man). All five writers are also producing the project. Mazar has previously scored Tiddes’ last feature, Half Baked: Totally High. Scary Movie will be released in theaters nationwide on June 5, 2026 by Paramount Pictures.
